HINTON — Privacy Policy

One app, any LLM, pay per use

Last Updated: March 15, 2026

1. Introduction

Hinton ("we", "us", "our", or the "App") is a pay-per-use AI gateway application that provides access to multiple large language models ("LLMs") through a single mobile interface. Hinton is built on the Router402 protocol and uses the x402 payment protocol for USDC micropayments on blockchain networks.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Hinton mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By downloading, installing, or using Hinton, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our Services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your email address and display name.

  • User Prompts and Conversations: The text prompts you submit to AI models through our Services, and the responses generated by those models.

  • Payment Information: Transaction metadata related to USDC micropayments processed via the x402 protocol. We do not store your private keys or seed phrases.

  • Feedback and Support: Any information you provide when contacting us for support or submitting feedback.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Services, including which AI models you use, token counts, session duration, and feature usage patterns.

  • Log Data: IP address, access times, app version, and error logs for debugging purposes.

2.3 Blockchain and Wallet Information

When you use Hinton, a non-custodial embedded wallet is created for you via Privy. We collect and process the following blockchain-related information:

  • Your public wallet address(es)

  • On-chain transaction history related to USDC micropayments

  • Session key metadata for frictionless transaction signing

  • Payment batching thresholds and settlement records

We do not have access to, store, or control your private keys. Your embedded wallet is non-custodial, meaning you retain full control over your funds at all times.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Services: To route your prompts to the AI models you select, process micropayments, and deliver model responses.

  • Persistent Memory: Through our mem0 integration, we store user-based context and memory across sessions to improve your experience. This data is associated with your user ID and is used solely to personalize your interactions.

  • Payment Processing: To facilitate USDC micropayments through the x402 protocol, including threshold-based payment batching for gas optimization.

  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: To detect, prevent, and address security issues, fraud, and abuse of our Services.

  • Communications: To send you service-related notifications, updates, and support responses.

  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Third-Party AI Model Providers

When you use Hinton to interact with an AI model, your prompts are transmitted to the respective third-party provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta). Each provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the AI model providers you choose to use. Hinton does not control how these providers handle your data once it is transmitted to them.

4.2 Blockchain Networks

Payment transactions are processed on public blockchain networks. Transaction data recorded on-chain (including wallet addresses and transaction amounts) is publicly visible and immutable. We cannot delete or modify on-chain data.

4.3 Service Providers

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services, including:

  • Privy: For embedded wallet infrastructure and authentication.

  • Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For hosting and data storage.

  • Analytics Providers: For usage analytics and performance monitoring.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. Specifically:

  • Conversation Data: Prompts and responses are retained for 30 days by default to provide the Services, unless you explicitly delete them earlier.

  • Memory Data: Persistent context stored via mem0 is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

  • Transaction Records: Payment metadata is retained for the duration required by applicable financial regulations.

  • On-Chain Data: Blockchain transactions are permanent and cannot be deleted.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest

  • Non-custodial wallet architecture ensuring we never have access to your private keys

  • Session key system with limited permissions and time-bound validity

  • Regular security assessments and monitoring

  • Access controls based on the principle of least privilege

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.

  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements. Note that on-chain data cannot be deleted.

  • Portability: Request a portable copy of your data in a structured format.

  • Objection: Object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@hinton.app.

8. AI Model Training

Hinton does not use your prompts, conversations, or personal data to train AI models. We are a gateway service that routes your requests to third-party AI providers. However, the third-party AI model providers you interact with through Hinton may have their own data training policies. We encourage you to review the terms of each provider. Where possible, Hinton opts out of model training with all AI providers it integrates.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@hinton.app.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction. When we transfer your data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including standard contractual clauses where required.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including AI model providers, blockchain networks, and wallet providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through Hinton.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
